Summer Cooler

Summer in  this Queen City of America, can  be relentlessly hot, muggy and humid at the same time. I know I shouldn’t complain because somedays brings us cool surprises, when temperatures makes a great fall from 90 degrees to mid 60’s, and the evenings are cool and pleasant. During this time of year, more than any other time, it’s important to stay hydrated. 

That means you should carry a bottle of water with you everywhere you go. Even if you think you’ve had enough to drink, it may not be enough. And if you’re bored with regular water, you may want to try my Summer Cooler recipe featured below, instead of reaching for a soda pop or flavored water. 






A refreshing summer drink that's healthy and hydrating.


Ingredients


1 cup fresh cherries

1 cup pineapple, chopped

1 small cucumber, chopped

¼ of a watermelon, deseeded, chopped

1/4 Tsp black salt

3 Tbsp of honey

¼ cup of water(optional) 

10 ice cubes 


Instructions

Put all ingredients into a food processor/blender.

Cover and blend until smooth for about 60 seconds or so.

Taste to adjust flavor

Strain and pour into glasses and spruce it up with a cherry and pineapple slice. I had that small cute little umbrella

Add vodka in place of water, if you want to serve as a cocktail.
